Lemon Protein Donuts



These Lemon Protein Donuts are seriously my favorite flavor! I know I say that about all of my protein donuts, because I love them all, but this one is my favorite! The lemon flavor is bright, the donut is light and cakey, and the frosting is delicious! Just about 100 calories per serving and amazing macros, this recipe is a great healthy treat to make! Make it with me!




This Lemon Protein Donut is seriously so enak it's addicting! Truthfully, I almost like them better without the frosting! But, I've never been a real frosting fan. So you can make them with or without! The donuts have incredible macros for something that tastes this good! I love them and I think you will too! The lemon isn't tart like you would think. The donuts are actually very light, flavorful, with a mild lemon touch. If you are a lemon dessert fan, then you will love these!


Lemon Protein Donuts 
Yields 15 Donuts
Calories Per Donut: 103
Macros 2 Fat 13 Carb 10 Protein

1 cup greek yogurt
1 egg
1/2 cup sugar alternative (sugar in the raw/splenda)
1 cup Kodiak Cakes protein packed mix
1/2 cup apple sauce
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon lemon zest
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 scoops vanilla protein powder (I use UMP)

Frosting
2 scoops vanilla protein powder
3 tablespoons almond milk
3 ounces fat free cream cheese (softened)

Preheat panggangan to 350

In a mixing bowl, cream together greek yogurt, egg, and sugar alternative. Next, add in the kodiak cake mix and apple sauce. Finally, add the remaining ingredients and mix until combine.

Place donut batter into a gallon sized zip lock bag.  Remove one corner and pipe donuts into a well greased donut pan. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.

Remove from donut pan and allow to cool.

For the frosting: Place protein powder, almond milk, and cream cheese in a mixer and mix on high until smooth. For thicker frosting, add less almond milk. For thinner, add more almond milk.

Frost and enjoy!
